OH DEAR! REWIND!

Been a bit slack on here lately because our main audience (our AMAZING PARENTS) have engaged mostly on our Class Dojo, so a lot of our classroom updates are there!!!! So I’ll just upload a ton a pics to show you some of the AWESOME things we’ve been up to in R17!!!! It’s TERM 2 now and we’ve been super busy!!!!

Check us out!!!! KIDSCAN teamed up with the NRL WARRIORS to donate these top notch rain jackets!!!! Aren’t we lucky?! Everyone at Wellsford school got one EACH!!!!!

We had a GRANDE OPENING of the  BMX BIKE track that was kindly funded to our school! So we were allowed to bring our wheels to school and we got free sausage sizzles YUM!!!!

We’ve been learning about healthy foods for topic this term. Here is a trial of the 1st smoothies we made in class! Not bad, but some thought it was a bit bitter. Ingredients were feijoas, bananas, & yogurt!

But! We got so good we became MASTERCHEFS!!!!! This is our 2nd trial of smoothies, and they were GREAT!!!!!

We had a MASTERCHEF challenge with the other classes in team 2 and narrowly came second to a coconut trifle! Next time R17, will try again at the next challenge! A HUGE THANKS to the parents who put in an extremely fab effort with our breaky! The judges said they wanted to finish off the meal! Judges comments were “YUM”, and “you’re not getting any of mine”, and “My mouth just went to Mexico”! With comments like that I think we did a FAB JOB!!!!

We have a new boy who just started in our class, and he has done so well to fit right into our classroom life!!! WELCOME TO WFD SCHOOL!!!

Last but not least, cross country is just around the corner so we’ve been training super hard! Check out the pics! Until next time, SURFS UP IN R17!!!!!

SO FAR, SO GOOD!

We are almost at the half way mark of Term 1 and we have been pretty busy trying to accomplish some good quality work with what little time we have had! The time is flying by so quickly, since we’ve been having a ton of FUN!!! Stay tuned for our next post that will showcase some of the work we have displayed in our class!

This is our new SMART HUB. It’s a cool little space for our gizmo geeks to use our classroom iPads and laptops! The kids LOVE IT!

  
We hit the pool for the first time on Monday 29th of Feb. It’s been really great having our School pool in operation again! Thanks Mr Stevenson for fixing the pool! WE LOVE IT!!! Don’t forget to bring togs EVERYDAY until the end of swimming season – just Incase we can fit in a lunchtime SPLASH!!!

  
We got to ride the school bikes. Another reason why Wellsford School rocks! We have a rich curriculum that provides great opportunities to our AMAZING tamariki! GO WELLSFORD!

  
Even though we are slowly coming into Autumn, it’s very important to wear your hat! Room 17 students must be doing something right! SUNSMART 17s – WELL DONE GUYS & GIRLS!

A Kowabunga Kick Start to the year!

After a good couple of weeks of hard work during the holidays, I was sure I could finally say that our classroom was ready to be jam packed full of awesome learners!!!

  
 

  

Yesterday was our very 1st day back at school. Some students were a little shy to meet their new teacher, and some didn’t want to leave. I’m glad most of us had a pretty cool day! Introducing our Surfy 17s – class of 2016! They are definitely the coolest bunch of Beach Babes I’ve ever seen!!!

  

We introduced our newest member of the class today. His name is Sky the bunny rabbit. His fur is blue and white and reminds us of the sky and fluffy clouds. Sky the bunny likes to go on overnight sleepovers with the kids. Tonight Sky went out for dinner with one of our awesome students, and even got to relax with a story book. 

I think Sky-Bunny is rather lucky if you ask me!

    

Our little surfy students in R17 have been focusing on getting to know one another and their new teacher this week. We’ve learned a lot about what we value, and what it takes to be a successful student in R17. 

It’s been a “Kowabunga” kick start to the year, and it’s only the beginning! Bring on 2016!!!

-Students have come home with 3 notices since yesterday, please check back packs.

-Homework will come home next Tuesday (Week 2)

-Please remember to bring students stationery to school. If you need a list, ask at the reception desk.
